Graduate Students – Ph.D. or M.S.
I am currently recruiting students to join the group in the summer or fall of 2018. Applications are due in mid-January. All relevant information and requirements can be found at the departmental website here. If you think you might be interested in joining the lab for graduate studies, please send me an introductory email to jdmanthey (at) gmail.com. Please include a CV/resume, and a small description of how your interests and the research topics of the research group complement each other.
I have several ongoing projects related to topics in landscape genomics, co-evolution of hosts and symbionts, comparative phylogeography, and genome evolution. Students are welcome to work on ongoing lab projects, but I will encourage student-led expansions of these topics in new directions that align with a student’s career goals.
I will start to accept undergraduate researchers in the lab once the workspace is set up and organized. I envision computational biology projects may be able to start in late February or March 2018, and more lab-oriented projects to commence in April or May 2018. If you are interested in volunteer, for-credit, or for-pay opportunities, please contact me at jdmanthey (at) gmail.com with your current academic status, what type of research interests you have, and a list of the biology-related courses you have taken.
