Graduate Students – Ph.D.
We are not currently in a recruitment cycle until Fall 2025. During Fall 2025, we may be recruiting one or two PhD students to join the research group in Fall 2026.
If you think you might be interested in joining the lab for graduate studies, please send me an introductory email to jdmanthey (at) gmail (dot) com. Please include a CV/resume, and a small description of how your interests and the research topics of the research group complement each other.
We have several ongoing projects that currently have room for student involvement and project expansion: (1) vertebrate and/or invertebrate genome evolution and (2) co-evolutionary genomics and landscape genomics of ants and their symbionts. Students are welcome to work on ongoing lab projects, but I will encourage student-led expansions of these topics in new directions that align with a student’s career goals.
Postdoctoral Associates
We do not current have funding in-hand to recruit new postdocs, but I am happy to discuss proposals for external funding with anyone that has overlapping research interests with our lab. Please contact me to discuss any ideas or funding opportunities.
Undergraduate Students
If you are interested in volunteer, for-credit, or for-pay opportunities, please contact me at jdmanthey (at) gmail (dot) com with your current academic status, what type of research interests you have, and a list of the biology-related courses you have taken.
